MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A judge sentenced a Myrtle Beach man to 12 years in prison for trafficking in fentanyl after he pleaded guilty on Monday.
Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson announced that 36-year-old Jason Garrett pleaded guilty to trafficking fentanyl a week before his trial was scheduled to begin.
An officer with the Horry County Police Department arrested Garrett in June of 2023 after a traffic stop for an unrelated charge in Myrtle Beach.
While being placed in handcuffs, Garrett admitted to officers that he had a “sizeable amount” of fentanyl in his pocket. Authorities seized the drugs that were later found to be 6.7 grams of fentanyl…
