Myrtle Beach shelter accommodates more than 50 extra people during Code Blue activation

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – New Directions, a Myrtle Beach shelter, accommodated and operated under Code Blue conditions Monday night due to below-freezing temperatures.

Kathy Jenkins, CEO of New Directions Horry County, says Code Blues are for people living on the streets, allowing clients to stay until the sun rises and the temperatures start to warm.
