The whole family knew about the unfinished baby quilt in the knitting basket at Karen and Mike Meagher’s house in Long Island, New York.
“It was kind of a running joke in the family that my mom had never finished it,” said Kaity Summers, the Meagher’s first-born daughter, for whom the quilt was first intended 30 years ago.
