‘Home for the Pawlidays’ event brings tails of joy to Horry Co.’s overcrowded shelter

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The Horry County Police Department is addressing overcrowding at its animal shelter by launching the “Home for the Pawlidays” foster event.

Capt. Crystal Buckingham of the department’s Community Services explained, “We routinely stay well over capacity, which means doubling up dogs, usually the ones that we have that can get along. We have them doubled, tripled up in kennels.”
