‘Just heartbreaking’: Neighbor shares acts of kindness after fire destroys Forestbrook home

FORESTBROOK, S.C. (WBTW) — Many of the items lost to daughter and father Emily and Terry Waters after a fire ripped through their Forestbrook home on Sunday will be expensive to replace.

Without an insurance policy and damages estimated in the tens of thousands of dollars, the Waters’ arduous recovery is being helped along with nearly $21,000 in donations that have poured into a GoFundMe account set up two days ago by Emily’s boyfriend, Declan Riley.

Nobody was hurt in the blaze that officials suspect was caused by an electrical problem from a deep freezer in the garage.

Saved from destruction however, were the ashes and wedding ring of Nicole Waters, who died of cancer in January…
