Conway-area gun store closes month after theft; feds offer $10K reward for information

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Conway-area gun store closed less than a month after a vehicle was driven into it and weapons were stolen from it, and federal authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information about the incident.

Horry County police responded on Oct. 25 to a break-in at The Hunters Outpost in the 3300 block of Bashor Road, according to authorities. Officers found that a vehicle had been driven through a wall into the business.

Video surveillance showed several people exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot after taking multiple guns from the business. Authorities said the vehicle that was backed into the building was also determined to have been stolen.

Responding officers found the vehicle, a Ford F-150 pickup truck, was stuck inside the building and needed a tow, according to a police report obtained by News13. The three suspects were seen searching the area for weapons — taking four unknown assault rifles off the wall — after reversing the truck into the front of the shop…
