First responders give back to Grand Strand students through ‘Shop with a Hero’ , spread holiday cheer

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Local first responders gave back to local school children through this year’s Shop with a Hero event.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department and the Myrtle Beach Fire Department gathered Saturday morning at Target along Seaboard Street to shop for items off of local children’s wish lists.

Through the event, children were given $200 to buy toys, clothes or other necessities and were paired with an officer or firefighter to help shop for the items…
