HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Icy roads likely contributed to several crashes Wednesday morning in the area of the Highway 544 bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Socastee, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.
One person was taken to the hospital after HCFR crews responded at about 6:45 a.m. Lanes of traffic remain blocked, and drivers are asked to avoid the area to avoid delays and for the safety of crews who are working in the area.
