Local swimming siblings continue athletic careers as state champions

A week in October brought home two dynamic wins after home-schooled siblings Jack and Jenna Guthinger each brought home state championship titles while competing for St. James High School, continuing a family legacy that began years earlier with their older brother.

Both siblings stay active year-round. Jack, a senior, competes in triathlons, and Jenna, a sophomore, competes in national-level swim competitions. Leading up to their win, the siblings had to fully commit their time and effort to the water.

“I was doing two, sometimes three practices a day, one with St. James, and two with my club team,” said Jack. “I was swimming as much as possible, trying to get that fuel back in the water.”…
