Humane Society hosts ‘Pets Light Up Our Lives’ ceremony and tree lighting

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach hosted its annual “Pets Light Up Our Lives” ceremony and tree lighting, celebrating the vital role pets play in our lives and honoring animals that have passed.

The event concluded with a tree lighting and a blessing of the animals.

“The blessing of the animals is my favorite time of the year,” said Tina Hunter, executive director of North Myrtle Beach Humane Society. “All together, it’s the sweetest little ceremony there is. The minister that we have for this event actually lays hands on each individual animal and prays over them. And it’s just the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen.”…
