MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Arctic air has arrived to the area. Temperatures are 30 to 40 degrees lower than Sunday morning, with inland areas in the upper teens and the coast in the low 20s. A cold weather advisory is in effect through 9 a.m. as wind chills could be in the single digits for some this morning. Bundle up! No frost this morning as it is too windy.
Today will be the coldest day in nearly a year. Highs will struggle to reach 40, marking the coldest morning and day since the winter storm in January. The wind chill is the lowest in nearly three years!
It will be sunny, but very cold. Our wind chills will remain in the 30s for the majority of the day. Thankfully, the winds will calm quickly during the afternoon, so it won’t be as bitterly cold tonight. Temperatures will once again be below freezing, ranging from the low to mid-20s tonight. Watch for frost tomorrow morning as calm winds will aid in frost development…
