HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The wife of an inmate who died at Conway Medical Center (CMC) in 2024 filed an intent to sue the medical service provider at J. Reuben Long Detention Center, claiming the provider’s negligence contributed to her husband’s death.
Joseph Watts, Jr., 35, died in the CMC Emergency Room July 14, 2025, after being transported there from the jail.
