Festival of Lights strengthens Jewish bonds, educates Myrtle Beach on Hanukkah

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — In a time of heightened awareness and vigilance, the Jewish community in Myrtle Beach is finding strength and unity through celebration.

Local Jewish educator Rayna Shoihat emphasized the importance of sharing Jewish culture and traditions, especially during challenging times.

“It’s a really difficult time right now. To be Jewish. I think everyone kind of is aware of what’s been going on in the world, and we’re on high alert. And at the same time, that’s all the more reason for us to get out and to celebrate who we are, share our light with the world,” Shoihat said…
