Breezy and warm on Monday

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Cloudy and much cooler conditions today across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee. Northeasterly winds kicked in and cooled us off dramatically. We ended up being a good 15-25 degrees cooler today than our record breaking warmth on Saturday. Tonight temperatures will not fall to much, in fact, after midnight, southerly winds start to erode the cold air wedge in place, and temperatures should warm slightly.

We will be warm and windy on Monday. Southerly flow will bring in warm air to the area, ahead of a significant cold front that will push through the area Monday afternoon. Warm and windy conditions have prompted a red flag warning for Scotland County. High fire danger will be possible across the entire area. A few isolated showers, around 20% chance can’t be ruled out. We will see skies clear and temperatures drop by Monday night into Tuesday morning. Highs will be in the low 70s, while lows drop quickly into the upper 20s to low 30s Monday night.

High pressure sets up most of the week, temperatures will be very chilly Tuesday morning. Lows will be well into the 20s. Highs only warm into the mid to upper 40s. Wednesday into Thursday highs will be in the low to mid 50s with sunshine. A cold front approaches the area Thursday into Friday. A few scattered showers are possible…
