Man shot at ‘close range’ at Myrtle Beach campsite, police report says; 2 women face charges

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A man was wounded in a shooting five days before Christmas in Myrtle Beach when a female suspect fired two shots at him from “close range,” according to a police incident report.

It happened at about 11 a.m. on Dec. 20 at a campsite in an area between Seaboard Street and Robert Grissom Parkway, an area near the Coastal Grand Mall. The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Myrtle Beach police arrested Deborah Marie Stevens, 41, of Myrtle Beach, and Ashley Lynn Stevens, 41, of Conway, in connection with the shooting. Deborah Stevens remains in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on bonds totaling $115,000, according to online jail records. Ashley Stevens was released on Friday after posting a $100,000 bond…
