Man with history of arrests faces new charges in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man who was arrested nearly a dozen times in 2025 is starting 2026 facing new charges.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department charged Shane Cook, 35, on Thursday with first-degree assault and battery and kidnapping.

Cook is no stranger to being in jail, with arrests dating back to 2009, according to public records. Those records show that in 2025 alone he was arrested 11 times.
