GSMC to add new upgrades, temporarily shifts emergency entrance

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The Grand Strand Medical Center is undergoing construction and therefore temporarily shifting their emergency entrance.

Starting Jan. 13, all emergency room patients and visitors will be required to enter through the main entrance due to the closure of the current emergency entrance off Highway 17. Officials also said those arriving for emergency care must use alternate access points at 79th Avenue and 82nd Parkway.

The hospital said they’re adding three operating rooms, larger storage space for supplies and upgraded processing capabilities in the laboratory, in addition to updates to the ER entrance and care spaces…
