Warbird Park preserves Myrtle Beach’s Air Force legacy with plane displays

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — What used to be an Air Force base in Myrtle Beach is now remembered by war planes at Warbird Park.

“We have the Super Saber, the F-100 that flew during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Cold War. In the middle, we have the A-7 de, the Corsair two that flew during Vietnam and then up front we have the A-10, the Thunderbolt two. But it’s better known as the warthog because it’s just not that pretty,” Kathryn Hedgepath, Myrtle Beach History Tours said.
