(WPDE) — Sheriff’s offices across the country and state are participating in immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) agreements.
As of Tuesday, ICE signed 1,318 memorandums of agreement for 287(g) programs covering 40 states. The states not participating or are restricted by state law include Washington, Oregon, California, Illinois and some states up north. In a release from Homeland Security, this is an effort to “make America safe again.”
But North and South Carolina have at least one active agreement with the ICE program…
