Drivers urged to use caution as rain, potential ice affect Carolinas’ roads

(WPDE) — The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS), the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and Emergency Management officials urged drivers to remain cautious on the roads due to rain across the region.

SCDPS reminds that bridges, overpasses and roads less traveled freeze first. They recommend that drivers slow down, avoid sudden braking and look out for ice and slick roadways.
