Here’s how to find warming shelters, other help as Grand Strand, Pee Dee brace for cold snap

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — With subfreezing nighttime temperatures forecast across the region on Tuesday night, and the potential for freezing rain and ice over the weekend, help will be available for those who need a place to stay warm.

In Marion County, the city of Mullins will open the City Hall auditorium at 151 E. Front Street as a warming shelter from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each evening starting on Tuesday. Officials said it will close at midnight if it’s not being used.

In Robeson County, Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said his office will provide transportation to anyone who needs to help getting to a shelter or a location that offers help. Deputies will also conduct regular patrols and walk-in welfare checks at any location accepting people…
