Pawleys Island teen dead after officer-involved shooting in Jasper Co.

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) announced that it is continuing an investigation into the officer-involved shooting that left a Pawleys Island teen dead Jan. 23.

According to SLED, the incident took place at the Shell gas station located next to the Super 8 Motel on Whyte Hardee Boulevard in Jasper County.

Hardeeville Police Department (HPD) officers first responded to a call about a person trying to enter parked vehicles at the motel.

SLED said officers then found an armed man in the neighboring gas statrions parking lot who matched the description of the subject at the motel…
