Fifteenth Circuit solicitor Jimmy Richardson said Sylvester Bellamy, 57, of Conway will spend the next 10 years in jail on a cocaine charge.
Bellamy pleaded guilty to trafficking cocaine and received a 10-year prison sentence from circuit judge David Caraker. Richardson said the sentence was a plea deal that took into account Bellamy’s lack of a criminal record, his age and other factors.
The charge stems from a controlled package delivery, in which more than 1,000 grams of cocaine were delivered to Bellamy’s Conway home, where he opened it and then claimed possession of it after police arrested him, according to the solicitor’s office…
