MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — More than 50 departing flights were cancelled from Myrtle Beach International Airport during the snowy weekend, according to MYR Spokesperson Ryan Betcher.
MYR’s runway was temporary closed Saturday evening at 8:10 p.m. and then reopened Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. Betcher said crews worked around the clock to remove the snow and ice accumulation on the runway in order to return to safe conditions.
As of Monday, Betcher said the airport has returned to normal operations.
