CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — It’s been nearly three years since Scott Spivey was killed along a quiet Horry County road, shot in an exchange of gunfire that culminated after a lengthy pursuit and claims of aggression leading up to fateful showdown.
North Myrtle Beach businessman Weldon Boyd and Horry County police from the earliest stages of the investigation following Spivey’s Sept. 9, 2023 death on Camp Swamp Road have said it was an act of self-defense that fell under South Carolina’s stand your ground law.
Attorney General Alan Wilson reinforced that stance last summer and so far, Boyd has not been criminally charged in Spivey’s death…
