‘Didn’t let the rain stop us’: Conway’s first Porchfest sees crowds despite rain

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Conway had its first Porchfest event Sunday, allowing musicians to perform on the front porches of people’s homes.

The rain did not stop the event from occurring from noon to 5 p.m. in Conway’s Historic Residential District, with 22 front porches participating.

“So, myself, as well as our volunteers, some of our board members, visited Porchfest events throughout the Southeast. We love the idea, it is an event that’s held nationally, and we decided to bring it back here to Conway,” said Hillary Howard, executive director of Conway Downtown Alive. “So we gave it a go, and we didn’t let the rain stop us.”…
