Columbus County deputies make three arrests in trespassing, theft cases

COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Columbus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies arrested three people over the weekend in separate cases involving trespassing and theft.

On Feb. 14, deputies responded to a trespassing complaint at a farm on Edmund Road in Evergreen. The property owner reported seeing a vehicle on his land through a camera system and said the same vehicle had been warned to stay away after taking scrap metal earlier in the week, according to CCSO.

Deputies found a man loading scrap metal into a vehicle. The man could not provide the property owner’s name or permission to be on the property. According to CCSO, deputies allegedly saw suspected narcotics in plain view…
