Terminated Myrtle Beach officer permanently loses certification after vote

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A terminated Myrtle Beach police officer permanently lost his certification after lying to his supervisor, according to a vote from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Training Council.

During a Jan. 26 meeting, the council unanimously voted to permanently deny the eligibility for a law enforcement certification for former Myrtle Beach officer Braeden Williams. The vote came after proven misconduct by Williams.

Myrtle Beach police, which was represented by Samuel Arthur of the Aiken Bridges Law Firm, says Williams lied to a supervisor about whether he ran criminal history searches for a domestic violence case.
