Man dies during police response to arrest in Horry Co., HCPD reports

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A death investigation is underway after a man was pronounced dead while police were responding to his arrest, according to incident reports from the Horry County Police Department (HCPD).

Reports said that when police arrived at the home on Pilot House Court on Feb.14, Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) was assisting in an arrest on the victim before he was pronounced dead in the master bedroom of the residence.

A woman told police that the victim had sustained a head injury due to a motorcycle accident the day before. She said he was not wearing a helmet but refused medical evaluation…
