East Carolina and Coastal Carolina open their three-game series on Friday at Springs Brooks Stadium, on the campus of Coastal Carolina. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The game can be heard on 94.3 The Game, as well as on the go through the IBX Media app, on the ECU Sports Network, with Dylan Johnson and Dr. Gary Overton on the call.
The series is a rematch of last year’s three-game series in Greenville, and the Conway Regional final between the Pirates and Chanticleers. Coastal Carolina won the regional and ultimately fell in the national championship series to LSU.
This season, ECU comes in at 7-5-1, while Coastal Carolina is 7-5. The Chanticleers have dealt with several injuries, especially on the mound. Preseason All-American Cameron Flukey and closer Dominick Carbone are sidelined. As a result, the Chanticleers have had an up and down start to the season, but are still ranked 16th nationally entering the weekend…
