MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Thousands of runners, walkers and spectators gathered at Pelicans Ballpark Saturday morning for the 29th annual Myrtle Beach Marathon.
Since its 1997 inception, the event has become a popular early year draw.
Roads throughout the city were packed as nearly 5,000 participants took to the course just after 6 a.m. for either a half or full marathon, weaving through city hotspots like Market Common and Ocean Boulevard…
