MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The 29th Myrtle Beach Marathon is introducing an elite invitational category, drawing top marathoners from across the Southeast to compete for a $17,500 prize purse.
Elite qualification standards
To enter the invitational, athletes must currently reside in, or have ties to, the Southeast.
Eligible states include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia, according to the Myrtle Beach Marathon website.
Athletes must also have met qualifying standards in an NCAA or USATF-sanctioned track meet or USATF-sanctioned road race with a certified course since Jan. 1, 2024…
