AYNOR, S.C. (WBTW) — An Aynor resident’s fence was damaged by strong winds as a storm rolled through the area on Thursday afternoon.
Photos courtesy of Emy Wellings show portions of a fence being blown over and damage throughout a yard. The Aynor area was under a severe thunderstorm warning until 12:45 p.m. Thursday, while nearby Florence County was under a tornado warning until just after noon.
Wellings said throughout the morning, she experienced strong winds and heavy rain. But around 12:30 p.m when things appeared to stop, and she felt like something was off.
“All of a sudden, it was just dark skies and clear,” said Wellings. “We didn’t hear anything for a second. And it was like that creepy, eerie thing, like, ‘oh wait, something’s going to happen.’ That’s when I heard the bam.”…
