MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – A beautiful Saturday across the area, will lead to a nice evening and overnight. We could see a little patchy fog in some locations, otherwise clear skies. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 50s.
Sunday we will see clouds increasing, as a warm front moves through the area. This will usher in warm and humid air. A few showers or thunderstorms will be possible. Some storms could be a little sneaky and rotate. There is a level 1 risk for severe weather for the area on Sunday. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s.
Sunday night into all day Monday, we will see a level 3 risk of severe weather. Some indications that we could see that bumped up to a level 4 risk. We will have to watch for isolated and discreet supercells developing through the late morning to early afternoon time frame. These cells will be the best opportunity to see a few tornadoes. They will also be able to produce damaging wind gusts and potentially large hail. As we get into Monday afternoon, the main cold front will push through the area, giving a solid squall line that will produce damaging winds, isolated quick spin up tornadoes, lightning and heavy rain. We have a lot of upper level wind support, that damaging winds could be pretty widespread with this line of storms. Not everyone will see severe weather, but those who do see the strong to severe storms could see some rough weather, keep checking back for exact timing as the system gets closer to us…
