One of Myrtle Beach’s longest-running food events is ending after 41 years.
St. Andrew School, 3601 N. Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, began its annual Taste of the Town in 1983, starting as a small event in the school cafeteria. However, the culinary fundraiser grew, morphing into the massive festival that was hosted annually at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, drawing thousands of attendees.
But the school announced Friday in a press release that the event will not continue “in its current format next year,” adding that as the school prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary this year, “we are taking this time to evolve how we engage with our community and support our students.”…
