DoorDash driver pulls gun on gate guard. He’s now suing Myrtle Beach area HOA

A DoorDash driver attempting to deliver an order in a gated Myrtle Beach community claims he was threatened by a security guard, forcing him to pull his gun on the person.

A lawsuit filed by Loren Eric Campbell said that he notified the guards providing security at Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club Association that he was there to deliver an order through DoorDash. However, once the gate to the homeowners association began to open, one of the two guards “aggressively” approached his vehicle and began to yell profanity. The guard then put his hands on the vehicle door handle, threatening to “snatch” Campbell out of the vehicle and beat him, the lawsuit said.

Campbell, believing that “immediate and imminent” harm to his body and property existed, brandished a firearm to warn the aggressor to disengage in his threat, the suit said. The guard then backed away and Campbell proceeded through the entrance, into the community and delivered the order to the residence, the suit said…
