Over a year after civil verdict, Brittanee Drexel’s mother still seeking to recover assets from daughter’s killer

SOUTH CAROLINA — The mother of Chili teen Brittanee Drexel is still trying to recover the assets of her daughter’s killer, Raymond Moody, over a year after a jury ruled that Moody must pay millions in damages.

That’s according to documents recently filed in Georgetown County Common Pleas Court. A jury ruled in February of 2025 that Moody must pay $200 million in actual damages and $500 million in punitive damages to Drexel’s mother for intentionally inflicting emotional distress.

Last week, Dawn Conley Pleckan filed a petition saying that the money remains unpaid and that Moody has assets that he hasn’t turned over. Conley said the court should seize Moody’s property in Georgetown County, South Carolina…
