Woman charged with human trafficking in 11-year-old’s death in Horry County denied bond

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – One of two women charged with human trafficking after the death of an 11-year-old in Horry County appeared in court Thursday for a bond hearing.

During the hearing, a circuit judge denied bond for Margaret Roberson. Tonya Root, a spokesperson for the Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, said this marked Roberson’s first time asking for a bond at the circuit level.

Horry County police allege repeated abuse of children, including 11-year-old A’Kyri Bell, at a home on Sago Palm Drive.

An alleged victim of the abuse spoke during the hearing, saying Roberson knew her daughter was beating children and “thought it was funny.”…
