Getting the year’s first region win is always a top priority, and that’s exactly what the Conway High softball team was able to do on Tuesday, March 17, against North Myrtle Beach.
The Tigers clawed their way to an 8-1 win to open up region play, led by the standout pitching performance from senior Olivia Drew, who tossed all seven innings in Conway’s region-opening win.
“The first game of region play is always one of the biggest games of the year for us,” Conway head coach Mike Skipper said. “The competition in this region is so strong, that if you fall behind early, that could be all it takes to push you right on down the ladder or completely out of the playoff picture.”…
