A special session of the Atlantic Beach Town Council ended in chaos after just 15 minutes on Tuesday, March 17 when the council could not agree on an agenda.
The vote was 2-2, with Mayor Jake Evans not present. After the council failed to pass the agenda following an angry debate, Mayor Pro Tem John David, Jr. moved to adjourn the meeting and it was over.
“The Town Council makes the agenda,” David said after the meeting. “We get to have input on the agenda. The town manager has usurped the council and he’s been making the agenda and we sent things in. I sent in public time last week. I sent something in on an SC DOT last week. I sent in numerous things at previous meetings and they don’t get put on the agenda.”
