MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A gymnastics coach in Myrtle Beach has been suspended by the U.S. Center for SafeSport after an investigation into allegations of misconduct, online records show.
The investigation into Christopher Mula began in 2023 after the allegations. The U.S. Center for SafeSport says the misconduct included “emotional misconduct; inappropriate conduct; intimate relationship – involving a minor; physical misconduct; violated NGB policies/bylaws; social media & electronic communication.”
Mula had restrictions placed on him back in 2023, including not being allowed any contact with USA Gymnastics-sanctioned events, according to the website. He was also not allowed to have unsupervised contact with minors.
It’s unclear if Mula is still the owner of Beach Team Gymnastics. His suspension, which is still subject to appeal and not yet final, also includes a no-contact directive and probation…
