Atlantic Beach mayor attends town meeting for the first time in year and a half after questions from News13

ATLANTIC BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Atlantic Beach Mayor Jake Evans attended a town council meeting for the first time in a year and a half, following questions from News13 about his extended absence.

The town held a special called Zoom meeting on Tuesday evening, to discuss a variety of topics including Bikefest vendor fees and a number of topics in executive session including a “town manager contract settlement” and a discussion about a lawsuit against the town that involves Thee Dollhouse strip club.

Mayor Jake Evans participated in the meeting, his first since Sept. 23, 2024, according to past meeting minutes available on the town’s website. He missed 27 straight town council meetings prior to Tuesday, according to town minutes…
