1 hurt, 1 detained after reported shooting in Myrtle Beach Publix parking lot, police say

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was hospitalized and another was detained after Myrtle Beach police responded to the Publix along N. Kings Highway for a reported shooting, the department said Friday.

Officers responded just before 5:40 p.m. to the parking lot of the store in the 7900 block of N. Kings Highway, police said.

No additional information was immediately available, but police did say there is no ongoing threat to the community. An increased law enforcement presence is expected in the area.
