Police charge woman in drowning of Salisbury 14-year-old at Myrtle Beach hotel pool

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW/QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A tragic incident in Myrtle Beach has led to the arrest of a 32-year-old woman following the death of a 14-year-old girl from Salisbury, North Carolina.

Authorities said Neveah Neely, a Salisbury teen, drowned last Thursday evening at a hotel pool along South Ocean Boulevard. Officers responded around 7:15 p.m., where they found the teen unconscious as emergency crews worked to save her.

According to investigators, the teen had been left unattended at the pool along with her siblings. Police reports state that Neveah, who could not swim, was underwater for approximately 45 minutes before being discovered. She was declared deceased at the hospital…
