MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Temperatures were cool in the 60s this morning, highs will be in the mid to upper-70s by the afternoon. A passing cold front will move through the area by mid-morning and we will see our first chance of widespread rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall chances are light to moderate, but the accumulation is nothing to be impressed with. Few locations may get lucky and see between 1/4 – 1/2″ but most of the area sees only up to a 1/4″, this will really just knock the dust down, and does not do much for breaking our drought. Tonight we cool down even more into the lower-50s.
Monday will be a cooler day with highs only managing to reach the low and mid 70s. It will be breezy, with low humidity, so fire concerns will quickly be back. They will last through the week. We will be more normal next week, with highs reaching the mid to upper-70s by midweek and another small chance of seeing rain Wednesday into Thursday morning…
