More rain Friday evening

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures are somewhat mild this morning, but cooler than yesterday. The coast is starting in the upper-50s, while inland areas are in the mid-50s to near 60. We’re still not going to see much sunshine today—it will be mostly cloudy, with a few isolated showers developing through the afternoon and evening. More significant and widespread rain will hold off until the overnight hours.

High temperatures today will range from 68 to 72, making for a rather cool start to May. Rain is expected to become widespread from early Saturday morning through the late afternoon, with rainfall totals between half an inch and one inch and temperatures staying in the mid-60s.

A cold front and area of low pressure will pass by, moving in from the southwest and tracking northeast of the viewing area, leading to cooler temperatures for Sunday. Thankfully, skies will clear, with highs in the 60s to around 70°…
