Man wanted in Horry County escapes building during search Friday, sheriff’s office says

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County deputies are working to learn how a man wanted on assault charges evaded capture.

The Horry County Sheriff’s Office went to a location in the Myrtle Beach area on Friday and was told the man was not there.

Someone there told deputies that the man they were looking for, who was wanted on charges of first-degree assault and battery and reckless discharge of a gun, liked to hang out at 4835 Highway 17 Bypass.

An incident report from the sheriff’s office obtained on Monday shows that when deputies arrived just before 3 p.m., they noticed a silver Nissan Altima in the parking lot that had been associated with the suspect…
