‘Data center capital’ of the Midwest expands as Pritzker calls for regulations

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is calling on state lawmakers to pass regulation aimed at curbing the expansion of data centers during the fall veto session.

But one Chicago suburb is going the opposite direction and looking to add more.

Elk Grove Village sits just west of O’Hare International Airport – and proudly bills itself as the “data center capital” of the Midwest, with more data centers per capita than any other community in the region…
