Severe storms with high winds caused hazards including downed trees, downed power lines, and flooding throughout the area this morning.
The National Weather Service said an EF-1 tornado traveled from Monee to Crete, and another EF-1 traveled from Orland Park to Flossmoor.
In Frankfort, phones and power was knocked out for a time at the Frankfort Village Hall. In Plainfield, some roads were closed due to flooding and downed power lines and trees. At one point, a train was stopped in Plainfield — blocking 143rd Street/Naperville-Plainfield Road, Main, Bartlett, and Center Streets due to a fallen tree on the railroad tracks…
