At 12:43 p.m. on August 15, 2026, Joliet police officers responded to the Riverwalk Homes Apartments for a report of a man who had been shot. Officers found a 26-year-old man in front of 311 North Bluff Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and arm. Officers provided medical assistance until Joliet Fire Department paramedics arrived. The victim was transported by the Joliet Fire Department to Saint Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Joliet police conducted a canvass of the area, and recovered evidence at the scene. No additional victims were located, and no other injuries were reported. Detectives continue to investigate the the shooting, including the motive and events leading up to the incident.
